  • About me
this is the last item from the first care activating serum trial kit. i've tried everything else. i was quite worried about this one as when i took the picture, i noticed that it's way richer than the creams that i used usually, so let's see how this goes.

this is the description from the website: a rich skin firming face cream that takes care of flakes and tight patches without feeling heavy, and addresses loss of elasticity of jisun firming complex, a potent blend of antioxidant-rich goji berries, black beans, and arrowroot. it offers deep hydration and helps smooth tone and texture. at night skin goes into repair mode, which means this emollient skin firming face cream formulated with a cocktail of nourishing black bean extract and antioxidant-rich goji berries, makes way for a radiant, smoother complexion. it's also perfect for creating a smooth, even canvas for makeup.
key ingredients: jisun firming complexTM - a special ingredient complex of goji berries, black beans and arrowroot. the proprietary complex effectively supports a firmer look of the skin.
ingredients list: water, butylene glycol, glycerin, caprylic/capric trigylceride, cetyl ethylhexanoate, butylene glycol dicaprylate/ dicaprate, cyclopentasiloxane, polyglyceryl-3 methylglucose distearate, glyceryl stearate, cyclohexasiloxane, cetearyl alcohol, PEG-100 stearate, hydroxyethyl acrylate/sodium acryloyldimethyl taurate copolymer, phenoxyethanol, polyacrylate-13, fragrance, polyisobutene, honey, limonene, lilium candidum bulb extract, paeonia albi-flora root extract, rehmannia glutinosa root extract, polygonatum officinale rhizome/root extract, nelumbo nucifera flower extract, ethyl-hexylglycerin, polysorbate-20, polysorbate-60, kaolin, linalool, pueraria loba-ta root extract, glycyrrhiza uralensis (licorice) root extract, citronellol, citral, geraniol, benzyl benzoate, hydrolyzed soybean extract, tocopherol.
the box
description at the back
the packaging: since i bought this in a set, it comes in a yellow/white box with the picture of everything inside at the front. at the back there's a list of the products inside. on the side there's a bit description and ingredients list on some of the items in english and korea. the cream itself comes in a miniature version of the full size product. it comes in a white plastic tub with yellow plastic screw cap. there's a yellow plastic cover inside so the cream doesn't come in contact with the air directly. unfortunately, they don't provide any spatula. the sample size is 15 ml which is really generous since usually full size one comes in 30 ml, but i read in the website that the full size is 75 ml. anyway, the packaging is quite deceiving since it looks as big as the votre peau full size moisturizer.
all products in this set
the scent: as you can see, there's added fragrance in the ingredients list. by now, you'd realized that all sulwhasoo products are fragranced. this one has the original hanbang scent, which is according to my nose smells a mix of herbal and ginseng scent. it's stronger compared to the other cream that i tried before this one, but not as strong as the overnight vitalizing mask, if my memory served me right. anyway, sulwhasoo always corporate fragrance as part of their skintainment, to give more holistic experience so don't expect them to go unscented.
the tub
the product: their description is right on the spot. it's a rich cream, very thick. i think it's the thickest cream that i've tried so far. however, it melts easily to my skin. since i use retinol serum right now and another cream that contains AHA, i decided to use this in rotation with them both. on days that i use retinol serum, i top it off with this cream. and when i don't use retinol, i use the AHA cream. i did this for almost a month and it works well.
the plastic separator
how it looks like inside the tub (like a butter)
the result: as i've said, i use this every other day, alternating with AHA cream. i think since i use this every other day, my skin can tolerate it well. however, i don't think it might be the case if i used it every day. the amount of this cream that i use is way less than the amount that i use of votre peau one. this gives semi matte finish, but in the morning, i can feel the layer of moisture on top of my skin before i wash it off.
how it looks like on my hand
after blended
i think this cream might be more suitable for dry skin as it's thick and rich. so, the title might be suitable as firming as it's quite dense. 15 ml is a lot for this type of cream since i only use this at night, so it lasts me more than a month since i only use this every other day. again, let me remind you that all sulwhasoo products are scented. as for the price, i believe that the price comes from something, so if you wanted to splurge, then this might be a good option as their products are high quality, not to mention the pretty packaging. as for me, i don't think it's for me, so i won't purchase the full size one. compared to the concentrated ginseng, this one is thicker and richer, so if you have normal or combination skin, you might want to try the other one rather than this one.
in my previous post i've mentioned that around last month or two, somethinc released 12 different types of serums. i want to try them all, obviously, but it wasn't logic to try them all at once. so i bought several that i thought would be suitable for my skin problem at that time. i've tried their multiobiome serum (you can read it here) but it was a fail for me. next in line is their hylapore serum. both contains new ingredient that i haven't tried before, so it's more interesting to find out about this two. let's see how this one goes.

this is the description from their website: combat large pores and oily skin. get rid of large pores and reduce excess sebum/ oil up to 30% with the treatment from vegan ingredients such as cleome gynandra leaf extract, zing PCA, mastic gum and palmitoyl tripeptide-38. it has been tested to help tighten pores, reduce redness on skin and control excess sebum production so that pores on the entire face appear smaller.
quick facts: reduces excess sebum production up to 30%, reduces blackheads and unclog pores, reduces acne-causing bacteria, helps smooth skin texture, reduces the production of C. acne, helps reduce inflammation, palmitoyl tripeptide-38 to shrink the appearance of pores, hypoallergenic, suitable for sensitive skin, fungal acne friendly, vegan friendly.
powered with:
- cleome gynandra leaf extract: a molecule with high antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that work to maintain the quality and quantity of sebum/oil on skin. cleome gynandra leaf extract is also able to reduce inflammation that leads to acne formation.
- zinc PCA: derived from glutamic acid (an amino acid), is a part of natural moisturizing factor (NMF) that binds water to skin and reduces TEWL.
- palmitoyl tripeptide-38: a matrikine-like compound that regulates cell activity and remodelling of collagen tissue. it works by stimulating the six major constituents that makes palmitoyl tripeptide-38 able to increase collagen production, repair damaged tissue, increase skin moisture and elasticity.
- pistacia lentiscus (mastic) gum: it works by inhibiting the activity of 5𝛼 reductase I, which in turn reduces skin inflammatory reactions. it also tightens as well as shrinking enlarged pores.
ingredients list: water, glycerin, methylpropanediol, pentylene glycol, propanediol, 1,2-hexanediol, zinc PCA, ammonium acryloyldimethyltaurate/ VP copolymer, caprylic/capric triglyceride, betaine, butylene glycol, adenosine, xanthan gum, cleome gynandra leaf extract, pistacia lentiscus (mastic) gum, ehtylhexylglycerin, hydrogenated lecithin, anthemis nobilis flower extract, melia azadirachta leaf extract, hydroxypropyl cyclodextrin, tromethamine, phenethyl alcohol, melia azadirachta flower extract, coccinia indica fruit extract, solanum melongena (eggplant) fruit extract, aloe barbadensis flower extract, allantoin, caffeine, ocimum sanctum leaf extract, curcuma longa (turmeric) root extract, corallina officinalis extract, palmitoyl tripeptide-38, tocopherol.
the full size and the sample size
description and ingredients list at the back
the packaging: the serum comes without any box. they just seal the bottle with plastic sealing. there's description at the back of the bottle in indonesian as well as ingredients list. again, since the bottle is quite small, they printed the description in tiny fonts that it might hurt your eyes if you try to read it. the serum itself comes in a transparent glass bottle but it looks greenish because of the serum. since this is a newly released product, they use pump head now to dispense the product. there's a lock system at the pump head, but they don't give any sign which one is which, so you have to remind yourself whether you have put it in the lock or unlock side. it only comes in 20 ml, which is a weird size for a serum. usually it comes in around 30 ml size. the sample size only comes in 5 ml size.
long spout for the sample size
pump head of the full size
the scent: this one is scentless. luckily this one doesn't have foul scent unlike the resurrect one.
how it looks like on my hand
after spreading it around
the product: it's a greenish liquid type serum. it's quite runny so it's easy to spread around. looking at the ingredients list, honestly i never saw other product that contains similar star ingredients aside from zinc PCA. but two main ingredients act as an anti-inflammatory agents that also helps shrinking the pores size (yeah i know, some of you might say that pores isn't a door that can be opened and closed, but that's what they're saying/claiming). they say to use 5-6 drops. if you're using the sample size, then you can count the drops as it has spout to dispense the product. but if you're using the full size one, it would be harder to count the drops as they use pump head for the full size bottle.
2 week difference
no change on pore size, but i feel difference in sebum control as well as acne prevention
the result: once it's spread around, i can definitely feel this one is moisturizing my skin. as for the anti inflammatory, thanks to the new combination of AHA cream and retinol (on alternate days), somehow i don't get acne that much anymore. but if there's a small pimples pop out, it would be less painful and quick to shrink in size. for sebum control, i still have to say that the jumiso works better followed by avoskin niacinamide. with this, i can see that my t-zone starts getting oily after 3 or 4 hours. but as i keep using it, i started to see that it works slowly to reduce the sebum and in combination with vitamin c, it helps to brighten up my complexion. as for pores, maybe it needs more time. my picture above is taken in 2 weeks time span.

i have to say that compared to multibiome, i like this one better for sebum control and acne prevention. but again, not two people are the same, so better try it yourself to find out which one that's more suitable to you. i think this one is suitable for all skin types since it's non drying. i think i'll put this in my repurchase list if i ever run out of stuff to try. it's affordable and easy to get since somethinc is on the rise right now. and they sometimes hold sales too. another plus: they are quick in restocking their products.
if you've read my other post, then you'd know that i bought glowincpotion acnecore+ travel set. it's been on my list forever, but then forgotten since there are so many new releases. and i'm confused where to start from, honestly. so, since my skin was problematic at that time, i decided to try the acnecore line first. this is the third item that i tried from the set. let's see how it goes.

this is the description from their website: a facial serum for acne prone skin & large pores. helps to fight acne-causing bacteria, as well as control sebum and strengthen skin barrier. formulated with AC care 1000, succinic acid, pore reductyl NT, triple ceramide, tea tree and turmeric water.
key ingredients:
- AC care 1000: natural acne-fighting ingredient from various lotus leaf extracts, green tea, angelica seeds and guava leaves.
- succinic acid: high in antioxidants that can help prevent premature aging.
- pore reductyl NT: natural ingredients that can help disguises pores and control sebum production.
- tea tree: helps control sebum production
- turmeric water: contains active compound, curcumin, which can help fight acne.
ingredients list: curcuma longa (rhyzome) water, succinic acid, glycerin, melia azadirachta extract, propanediol, polyglyceryl-4 caprate, nelumbo nucifera leaf extract, camellia sinensis leaf extract, psidium guajava fruit extract, angelica gigas extract, ammonium polyacryloyldimethyl taurate, phenoxyethanol, butylene glycol, propylene glycol, fomes officinalis extract, sodium lauroyl lactylate, ehtylhexylglycerin, 1,2 hexanediol, T-butyl alcohol, quaternium-73, ceramide AP, phytosphingosine, cholesterol, xanthan gum, carbomer, chlorella vulgaris powder, ceramide EOP.
items in the travel set:
- clear AC low pH gel cleanser 5 ml
- clear AC toner 5 ml
- clear AC serum 5 ml
- clear AC everyday moisturizer 5 ml
the travel set
the packaging: i bought this as a set so everything is placed in a mini jelly pouch. the serum comes in a grey plastic bottle that looks exactly the same as the toner. you just need to read the label to make sure that it's the serum. they numbered the usage order, so the serum is labeled no.3. the opening is as big as the toner one, so be careful when you tilt it. there's indonesian description and how to use direction printed at the back but it's very tiny since the bottle is short and tiny. since i bought this in a travel size, it only comes in 5 ml which is really tiny.
all the products inside
no 1 cleanser, no 2 toner
no 3 serum, no 4 moisturizer
the scent: it smells like antiseptic. something like a mix of antiseptic with a hint of herbal. it's very subtle though. i can pick it up because i sniff it real close.
description at the back
the product: the serum is liquid but not completely runny that it pours easily to my palm when i tilt the bottle. it's easily spread around my face and absorbed easily within seconds. the serum is yellowish/greenish, i don't know what the color exactly, but it's more toward yellow i guess. maybe because of the turmeric water that's used as the base. but i can assure you that it doesn't stain my hand nor my face.
how it looks like on my palm
the result: the serum is mattifying and controls sebum better than the probiome serum. since i only use this for around 10 days or so, i can't say for sure that it will dry my skin or not. all i can say that during the day, it helps with the sebum. but it tends to be slightly drying if being used together with the toner. since i use them separately, i have no problem with it.
how it looks like after absorbed
i have to say that if you really have a problematic skin, then this serum might really help, especially if you have oily skin. it did help with the sebum production. however, i don't think it helps preventing acne though. it does help speeding up the drying up process but not preventing it. price wise it's really affordable but keep in mind that it's only 20 ml in size, while the usual serum size is30 ml. as for availability, you can buy this directly from them or from several online shop, especially that is affiliated with somethinc.
couple months ago i found out new joy in trying local brands moisturizer releases. for the past year, local brands have been releasing new products like crazy. i like how sometimes the brands release two types of moisturizer, one catered for dry skin and one for oily skin. so far i like the elsheskin one, don't like the hale one and this time i'm trying the true to skin one. though there's only one type, looking at other reviews, it looks promising so i'm hoping it works well for me too.

this is translated from their website: mugwort tripeptide gel cream is a moisturizer with texture in between gel and cream, lightweight on the skin but gives maximum moisture. this moisturizer is formulated to help moisturized and soften with ingredients such as hyaluronic acid and artemesia capillaris flower extract. helps protect the skin from sunlight with active ingredients palmitoyl pentapeptide-4 and tetrapeptide-44 as anti aging that can helps to reduce wrinkles or fine lines on skin and soothes acne. suitable for day and night. key ingredients: mugwort, tripeptide, bisabolol.
ingredients list: aqua, octyl methoxycinnamate, propanediol, butylene glycol, caprylic/capric triglyceride, glycerin, lactobionic acid, palmitoyl pentapeptide-4, polyacrylamide, c13014 isoparaffin, laureth-7, beta glucan, sodium hyaluronate, saccharide isomerate, tetrapeptide-44, acetyl hexapeptide-8, bisabolol, tocopheryl acetate, artemisia capillaris extract, pentylene glycol, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, spirulina plantesis extract, malus domestica fruit extract, maltodextrin, caprylyl glycol, 1,2-hexanediol, ethylhexylglycerin, citric acid, sodium citrate, phenoxyethanol, sucrose, tromethemine.

the packaging: the moisturizer comes in a pastel pink plastic tub with green plastic screw cap. they seal it with plastic when i got it, so no box. there's a bit description at the bottom in indonesian as well as the ingredients list. but don't try to read it since it's printed in tiny font since the space is limited. inside, there's a plastic separator with a tiny spatula on top of it. i like how they manage to provide spatula but i'm not thrilled over the choice of packaging. i prefer squeeze tube as it's more practical, but the pastel colors are nice. it looks pretty on my vanity. anyway, it comes in 30 ml which is normal size for a moisturizer.
the tub
the scent: it doesn't have any added fragrance and there's no funny scent that i can pick up as well.
the mini spatula inside
the product: it's a white lightweight gel type moisturizer. compared to elsheskin, this is slightly thicker, but compared to hale, this is wayyy runnier. compared to votre peau, this is thinner. if you ask me, i do like the texture a lot. if you think the elseskin is too runny for your liking, then you'll like this one. it's easy to spread around and sinks in within seconds. there's a bit glow when it's freshly applied, but not super shiny.
how it looks like on my hand
the result: as i've said, i like the texture a lot as it's quite lightweight for my combination skin. it sinks nicely and once absorbed, i can feel it moisturized my skin. it doesn't turn completely matte but it's not super glowy either. however, i think if the weather gets hotter, the elsheskin would be the one i'd pick. but this one is really suitable for rainy weather.
after patted it
that being said, you'd guessed that i loveee this one as well. maybe elsheskin for hotter days, but this one for rainy days. if you think elsheskin is too runny, then you should try this one. however, i do hope that they put this in a tube or something. a pot is not my favorite packaging. price wise, it's still affordable. i'd definitely put this in my rotation list if i ever run out of things to try. you can buy this from their direct website or official marketplace, as well as places like sociolla or other online shops.
i bought this serum together with the salmon one since i didn't know which one to pick between two, so i decided to just try them both and decide later which one i like better. both serum had been out in the market for awhile before they released another 12 serums in their skinsolver series, so both serums still had the old packaging. let's see how it goes.

this is the description from their website: the anti-aging expert gives you the convenience to take good care of your skin. skin tightening elixir from 12 types of peptides formulated with syn-ake, argireline & 12 types of anti-aging peptides that focus on tightening, stimulating collagen and restoring skin elasticity. rejuvenate your skin in 15 days.
skin concerns: sagging skin, wrinkles/fine lines, textured skin, premature aging
main ingredients: 65% rosa damascena floral water, 12 types of peptides - syn-ake, argireline (known as botox like effect), 10 potent peptides.
ingredients list: rosa damascena flower water (65%), glycerin, water, methylpropanediol, 1,2-hexanediol, butylene glycol, ammonium acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP copolymer, polyglyceryl-10 laurate, betaine, pentylene glycol, allantoin, adenosine, xanthan gum, octanediol, ethylhexylglycerin, carbomer, anthemis nobilis flower extract, dipeptide diaminobutyroyl benzylamide diacetate, eclipta prostata extract, coccinia indica fruit extract, polysorbate 20, caffeine, palmitoyl tripeptide-1, SH-octapeptide-4, SH-decapeptide-7, acetyl hexapeptide-8, rh-oligopeptide-1, rh-polypeptide-1, rh-oligopeptide-2, rh-polypeptide-3, rh-polypeptide-22.
how it looks like still wrapped in plastic
the packaging: all somethinc serums don't have boxes. they only come in the bottle. this one comes in transparent (but looks pinkish) glass bottle with dropper to dispense the product. there's small label with short description and ingredients list on it. the serum size is 20 ml which is a bit weird for a serum since it usually comes in 30 ml size for a full size one, but all somethinc serums regularly come in 20 ml size. i think they should consider changing the dropper since it didn't pair well with the serum.
description and ingredients list at the back
the scent: though it contains rose water, somehow it doesn't smell floral at all. in fact, it's quite scentless, without any foul scent. you can also see that there's no added fragrance in the ingredients list as well.
how it looks like inside the dropper
the serum: it's a thick pinkish transparent gel. it's very thick that you have to pinch the dropper for a few second for it to pick up the product. that's why i said they should try other method to dispense the product as it's a bit annoying when i pull out the dropper but nothing inside even though i've pinched the dropper for a few seconds. however, considering the serum is quite thick, it's considered easy to spread it around without any problem. it layers well over and under my other skincare products, no pilling. i can even use it with my foreo bear easily.
how it looks like on my hand
the result: i think the result and the experience is similar to votre peau peptide serum, though if i recalled correctly, the votre peau is not as thick as somethinc one, but just slightly. this is a moisturizine serum but not super rich that it clogs my pores. it pairs well with the actives that i'm using at the moment. i won't say that the result is dramatically seen in 15 days as it claimed, but i can see my skin feel softer and the condition is getting better each day, combined with other product that i used. if you're curious, i'm currently using a retinol serum, hylapore serum and rotating between votre peau moisturizer and sulwhasoo moisturizer. i also use vitamin c serum during the day.
after blending it
i have to say i quite like this one. i think it's okay for all skin types, but maybe for oily skin, you should try it first. luckily somethinc offers smaller size, 5 ml, so it might be a good idea if you want to try it first before buying the full size. as for me, i'd definitely put this in my repurchase list if i ever run out of things to try. price wise, it's affordable and somethinc often holds sale. you can find it in their website or their official marketplace as well as other places like online shop and sociolla.
i bought this based on a whim. this cleanser has been around for quite some time, but i never got the chance to try it. so when i was on a shopping spree for cleanser, i decided to try this one as well, and not just the new releases. let's see how it goes.

this is the description from their website: a mug full of matcha isn't the only way to get its detoxifying benefits - it works wonders when applied on the skin too! here's gotta matcha face cleanser, a cleanser with a light texture that delivers and immensely deep cleanse, removing surface impurities while energizing and maintaining the delicate skin barrier. other ingredients include sweet almond oil and oat kernel oil which help to moisturize and make the skin look brighter, and last but not least, witch hazel extract to shrink visible pore size. this cleanser leaves your face fresh, clean, smooth and radiant. your skin's gotta meet gotta matcha!
key ingredients:
- green tea extract: helps protect skin against environmental damage and toxins.
- pro vitamin B5: increases skin hydration, softness, elasticity, and regenerates the skin.
- witch hazel extract: prevents inflammation and reduces skin irritation.
ingredients list: water, coco glucoside, sodium lauroyl sarcosinate, acrylates/c10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, phenoxyethanol, cocamidopropyl betaine, sodium cocoyl apple amino acids, sodium benzoate, coco betaine, sodium hydroxide, sodium chloride, sodium cocoyl isethionate, sodium methyl cocoyl taurate, PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil, tetrasodium EDTA, sodium metabisulfite, sodium PCA, propylene glycol, panthenol, prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) oil, vegetable oil, hamamelis virginiana (witch hazel) leaf extract, avena sativa (oat) kernel extract, camellia sinensis (green tea) leaf extract, sorbitol, glycerin, pantolactone, tocopherol, chlorphenesin, potassium sorbate, CI 14700 (red 4), CI 19140 (yellow 5), CI 42090 (blue 1)

description at the back
the packaging: it comes in a transparent plastic box with description at the back in english and indonesian as well as ingredients list on the side. they seal the top of the box with sticker. the cleanser itself comes in white plastic squeeze tube with a flip top. another description at the back in english. they sealed the flip top area with plastic sealing and they add another sealing on the opening of the tube inside. talking about the extra miles to ensure that it's safe and secure until it reaches your hand. it comes in 100 ml which is a regular size of face cleanser.

the scent: there's no added fragrance in the ingredients list and i can't pick up any scent even though i sniff it real close.

description at the back
the product: the cleanser is greenish gel type and it's quite thick, maybe similar to avoskin's. with hand, it's almost impossible to make it foamy. it produces low foam with my foreo.
the opening
how it looks like on my foreo
the result: after washing it off, my skin feels clean but not squeaky clean. it's not tugging my skin or stripping it dry, which is a good thing.
low foam thanks to foreo
unfortunately, this feels mediocre for me. there's no skintainment that i got from this cleanser whatsoever, so i feel like washing my face is just a routine. considering their tag is 'spark joy', there's no joy in using this cleanser for me. almost similar effect that i got from avoskin. that being said, i do recommend this cleanser as this works well, it's gentle, it's affordable and it's easy to get. if you don't mind with no scent or no added benefit, then you should try it. but for me, there are other options out there, so probably i won't repurchase this one.
if you read my other post, i bought the glowinc acnecore travel kit as i want to try them all. if you didn't know about glowincpotion, they're the sister brand of somethinc. the way they arrange the product lines up make it easier to find products for your need. they separated the products according to the skin type/skin problem/target. each line has only 4 products so it's very simple to follow, even for a beginner.

this is the description from their website: a facial moisturizer for acne prone skin & large pores. helps to fight acne-causing bacteria, as well as control sebum and strengthen skin barrier. formulated with AC care 1000, succinic acid, pore reductyl NT, triple ceramide, tea tree and turmeric water.
key ingredients:
- AC care 1000: natural acne-fighting ingredient from various lotus leaf extracts, green tea, angelica seeds and guava leaves.
- succinic acid: high in antioxidants that can help prevent premature aging.
- pore reductyl NT: natural ingredients that can help disguises pores and control sebum production.
- tea tree: helps control sebum production
- turmeric water: contains active compound, curcumin, which can help fight acne.
ingredients list: curcuma longa (rhyzome) water, cetyl alcohol, succinic acid, butylene glycol, polyacrylamide, melia azadirachta extract, propanediol, phenoxyethanol, stearyl alcohol, c13-14 isoparaffin, nelumbo nucifera leaf extract, propylene glycol, ammonium polyacryloyldimethyl taurate, camellia sinensis leaf extract, psidium guajava fruit extract, angelica gigas extract, melalueca alternifolia leaf oil, titanium dioxide, butyl hydroxyl toluene, laureth-7, fomes officinalis extract, glycerin, ethylhexylglycerin, sodium lauroyl lactylate, 1,2-hexanediol, t-butyl alcohol, ceramide NP, quaternium-73, ceramide AP, phytosphingosine, cholesterol, xanthan gum, carbomer, chlorella vulgaris powder, ceramide EOP.
items in the travel set:
- clear AC low pH gel cleanser 5 ml
- clear AC toner 5 ml
- clear AC serum 5 ml
- clear AC everyday moisturizer 5 ml

the packaging: i bought this as a set so everything is placed in a mini jelly pouch. the moisturizer packaging is similar to the cleanser so make sure you read the label right. it comes in a grey plastic squeeze tube with screw cap. the opening is as big as the cleanser one and both come in 5 ml size. for moisturizer, usually travel size/sample size comes in 5-10 ml so this one is still a decent one. there's only ingredients list printed at the back of the tube since it's really small.
the travel set
the scent: i can totally say there's a hint of tea tree. it's very subtle and i can barely smell it when i put it on my face.
all the products inside
the product: the moisturizer is yellowish cream that has a slight gel texture into it. it's quite thick for a moisturizer that's targeted oily skin/acne skin. i thought it would be watery like elsheskin one, but i was wrong. maybe because this moisturizer is supposed to be used day and night, so they have to settle for something in between. still acceptable for daytime use but still occlusive enough for night time. looking at the ingredients, just like the cleanser, it use turmeric water as the base, which is something new as usually other brand would just use regular water. it also contains lots of moisturizing agents like BG, glycerin, several types of ceramide and cholesterol. it also contains tea tree extract that's famous to help with problematic skin.
ingredients list at the back
the result: right off bat i can say that this is heavier than my previous elsheskin moisturizer or even the hale one. at this time, i use SNP peptide toner, somethinc hylapore serum (that's supposed to help with sebum as well) and this moisturizer in the morning. and at noon, i can see my t-zone starts to get oily. at first, after freshly applied it will look a bit matte, but it doesn't hold long. well, as for acne prevention, it might not work miraculously as i still have acne especially after wearing a mask. but the acne wasn't the cystic one and it heals pretty quickly.
how it looks like on my hand
after patted it in
i have to say that i still like elsheskin moisturizer more than this one. but, if you use the set as a whole, it might not as bad. i've tried the toner and the serum when i took pictures of them, and both the toner and serum turns matte, so probably if the moisturizer is combined with the other two, it might not as oily as if being used on its own. i think the glowpotion gives a nice idea for beginner that don't know where to start or for those who doesn't like complicated steps. you just need to find the right type for your skin though. price wise, it's still affordable.
if you didn't know, glowinc potion is a sister brand of somethinc. they have several lines launched at the same time but targeted for different skin problems/type. i assume they launch glowincpotion to help people that's confused about skincare steps or a beginner in skincare world, or want a simple routine as all the lines only consist of cleanser, toner, serum and moisturizer. pretty simple. you just need to find one which one that's suitable for you. honestly when they first launched, i want to try them, but then i forgot as there were lots of new launches around the same time. but when i was about to run out of my face wash, i remember about this one and luckily, they just came out with the travel sizes. being a curious head, obviously the travel set help me to try all the products in one line all at once, or at least get the idea. i bought the acnecore one as my skin is quite troublesome at the moment. but as you all know me, i won't try them all at once. so let's start from the cleanser.

this is the description from their website: a facial cleanser for acne prone skin and large pores. helps to fight acne-causing bacteria, as well as control sebum and strengthen skin barrier. formulated with AC care 1000, succinic acid, pore reductyl NT, triple ceramide, tea tree and turmeric water.
key ingredients:
- AC care 1000: natural acne-fighting ingredient from various lotus leaf extracts, green tea, angelica seeds and guava leaves.
- succinic acid: high in antioxidants that can help prevent premature aging.
- pore reductyl NT: natural ingredients that can help disguises pores and control sebum production.
- tea tree: helps control sebum production
- turmeric water: contains active compound, curcumin, which can help fight acne.
ingredients list: curcuma longa (rhyzome) water, cocamidopropyl betaine, glycerin, acrylates copolymer, sodium chloride, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, succinic acid, melia azadirachta extract, potassium cocoyl glycinate, potassium hydroxide, DMDM hydantoin, melalueca alternifolia leaf oil, propanediol, propylene glycol, potassium cocoate, tetrasodium EDTA, BHT, nelumbo nucifera leaf extract, camellia sinensis leaf extract, psidium guajava fruit extract, angelica gigas extract, butylene glycol, sodium lauroyl lactylate, fomes officinalis extract, 1,2-hexanediol, ceramide NP, ceramide AP, phytosphingosine, cholesterol, chlorella vulgaris powder, xanthan gum, carbomer, quaternium-73, ceramide EOP.
items in the travel set:
- clear AC low pH gel cleanser 5 ml
- clear AC toner 5 ml
- clear AC serum 5 ml
- clear AC everyday moisturizer 5 ml

the packaging: as i bought this as a travel set, it comes in a small mini jelly pouch. the cleanser comes in a grey plastic tube with screw cap. as you can see, it only comes in 5 ml (but i got two as i got another one for freebies) so the tube is tiny that they only managed to print the ingredients list at the back of the tube. all products in acnecore series have greenish spot on the label. they also put number on the label to indicate which product comes first, that's why it's very beginner friendly. the opening is big enough and they don't seal it. my only complaint is, for a travel size or even sample size, 5 ml for a cleanser is too little. maybe you can only use this for overnight trip. i have bought other travel kits before and usually the cleanser would range around 15 to 30 ml. fyi, the full size is 80 ml which is also less than usual face cleanser size that comes in 100 ml. if you're curious, 5 ml size lasts two days on me (twice a day usage).
the travel set
the scent: it doesn't have any added fragrance in the ingredients list but several ingredients have strong natural scent, so obviously it will affect the scent of the product. for me, i think i can smell tea trea scent from it faintly.
all the products inside
no 1 cleanser, no 2 toner
no 3 serum, no 4 moisturizer
the product: it's a pearly greyish gel cleanser, but it is a bit runny. compared to somethinc low pH gel cleanser, that one is thicker. i can use this with my foreo, but i have to use more than usual since it's very low foaming. with hands, it's even worse. i used to rub the cleanser with my palms before putting it on my face, but even before i put it on my face, half of it dissolved in the water already that i have to add more. the bubble it produced is even less than the one produced by somethinc one. looking at the ingredients, it's interesting to see that they use turmeric water and not just plain water as its main ingredients. luckily, it doesn't come out as yellow or it will stain.
look at how runny it is
the result: well, i have no complaint about it. it cleanses well as a second cleanser. after i wash it off, i can feel my face is clean without tugging my skin or tightness. it doesn't cause dryness as well. i don't have any pH strip test, so i can't say anything about the low pH claim.

i have to say that this is really gentle and non drying, so it's safe not only for problematic skin with acne, but all skin types. my only complaint is that they should reconsider the size or the travel kit as it's too little, not just the cleanser, but the whole kit. price wise, it's still affordable, but maybe not for the travel kit if you break it down to price per ml. for me, i'd like to try their other line as well, so probably won't get to repurchase this one for now.
