  • About me
this might be the last item that i finally tried from this set. anyway, if you haven't known yet, i bought this set during holiday around last year or so? inside this set, i've tried the a passioni in their original packaging, so i don't know if they've changed the formula or just the packaging. but everything else.. i haven't tried them so it's a good thing i bought this set. i also get to try the TLC framboos which is usually not included in any other set. i've heard good reviews about the TLC, so i hope it works for me too.
the box
this is the description from sephora singapore: a skincare box set featuring a cleanser, retinol cream, mask and exfoliator for hydrated, smooth skin. this skincare box feature 4 products to help keep your skin hydrated and smooth looking.
what's inside the set:
- beste no.9 jelly cleanser 60 ml
- a passioni 10 ml
- f-balm 15 ml
- tlc framboos 15 ml
descriptions and ingredients list at the back
this is the description for the TLC framboos: formulated with your dream team of glycolic, tartaric, lactic, citric, and salicylic acid and blended with raspberry extract and horse chestnut, TLC framboos curbs excess oiliness as it reveals greater clarity and luminosity. it also enhances the performance of other products by clearing the way for maximum absorption. TLC famboos sinks in easily and delivers an effective level of chemical exfoliation without harsh side effects, like dryness or sensitization. go from a drab complexion to an absolutely luminous one, practically overnight.
everything inside the set
TLC framboos AHA blend: glycolic plus tartaric (T), lactic acid (L), and citric (C) acids exfoliate built-up dead skin cells, resurfacing dull, uneven skin for a smoother, brighter, more even-looking complexion.
- salicylic acid (BHA): loosens sebum to unclog pores while soothing skin.
- raspberry fruit extract: rehydrates and soothes skin while fighting free radical damage with antioxidants.
- cactus extract: calms and soothes redness and sensitivity that results from exposure to topical AHAs.
- horse chestnut: helps soothe skin while providing potent free-radical defense
- galactoarabinan: this polysaccharide extracted from larch trees acts as a gentle exfoliant and minimizes the appearance of fine lines while helping inhibit moisture loss.
- buddleja davidii meristem cell culture: these plant-derived cells with potent antioxidant properties help defend against photo damage and oxidative stress.
- virgin marula oil: this super-absorbable oil, high in critical antioxidants and omegas 6 and 9, helps moisturize, nourish, and rejuvenate skin for a youthful glow.
- white tea leaf extract: potent antioxidant that provides soothing benefits.
- sodium hyaluronate crosspolymer: with a smaller molecular weight than hyaluronic acid, this ingredient is able to deeply penetrate skin, delivering excellent hydration and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while promoting firmness.
- yeast extract: brightens and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, helping to minimize skin stress.
the bottle
the packaging: since i bought this in a set, it comes in a hard box, with purple, orange and neon green dominated the color palette. you can see the picture of all the products inside at the back and then the list of everything and ingredients list at the back and on the sides in various languages. the serum itself comes in the mini size of the full size. everything looks like the full size one. all drunk elephants serum comes in white plastic bottle with different color head according to the type. for TLC, the bottle is in block shape and the head is fuchsia. you can twist the top part to reveal the pump head and twist it back down to completely tuck the pump head so it's secure. there's description at the back of the bottle in english and french as well as the ingredients list if i'm not mistaken. the mini size is 15 ml which is half of the full size serum so it's quite generous for a mini size. especially since i don't need to use much and only use this twice a week to every other day.
description and ingredients list
the scent: this one is unscented but obviously there's a little scent because of the ingredients. but it's not bothering me.
the twisted pump head
the product: it's a transparent gel type serum that's easy to spread around. i only need a little for my whole face, but considering this is an exfoliating serum, i focuse more on T-zone before putting it on my cheeks. i avoid using it on my neck because based on my experience, sometimes the acid can be too strong for my neck area so i rarely use it on my neck.
how it looks like on my hand
the result: so far, avoiding my neck area works well for my skin. it doesn't irritate my skin that way. and only using it at night for every two to three days work for my skin. after using it, i notice that the bumps reduce visibly overnight. but for more stubborn acne, it takes a while for it to be gone. but so far, for smaller bumps and uneven skin, it works like a real miracle overnight. overall, this works well for my skin but i still take a great precaution to put on moisturizing serum afterward to prevent drying.
after spreading it around
i'm quite surprised to see that this one works well. drunk elephant acids are pretty strong, so i was afraid at first. but apparently, taking some precautions like avoiding my neck area and using it only twice or three times a week and always follow up with a moisturizing serum works well for me. i think if you want to try an exfoliating serum, this one is on the stronger side, so make sure to hydrate and moisturize afterward to prevent dryness and over-exfoliate. start slow. pay attention to your skin's condition. but, this one is on the pricey side but luckily, they offer them in set like this, so if you want to try them, maybe try them in a set. as for me, i'm glad i get the chance to try it and would consider repurchasing it, but only if i have the budget since it's quite expensive.
i didn't realize that i almost ran out of cleanser, so i started to search for new things to try. unfortunately, the ones in the market are not that new to me. at least i know of them and don't like them to try or i don't have the interest to try. i like to try some underrated brands but some of them don't have any cleansers in their products line up. so i decided to try some from azarine. i quite like some of their serum, so i hope i can find a decent cleanser from them.

this is the translated description from their website: vitamin c rich deep cleanser. a fresh, moist and creamy facial wash to help brighten and cleanse skin from various dirts and makeup residue. with natural AHA and BHA ingredients to help lift dirts and moist the skin. with 5 natural extracts from papaya, lemon, mulberry, yogurt and jicama can help brighten and nourish facial skin so it looks fresher, brighter and smoother.

the packaging: it doesn't come in any boxes. the facial wash comes in yellow/white plastic squeeze tube with flip top. there's description at the back of the tube in indonesian as well as the ingredients list. there's nothing special about the packaging, just a regular facial wash. it comes in. .. so it's not much.
the packaging
the scent: i don't think this one is scented and luckily it doesn't smell weird either.
description and ingredients list at the back
the product: the cleanser is a yellowish gel type cleanser. the color is quite vibrant but it doesn't stain. it's quite thick and low foaming. even with my foreo, it doesn't produce much foam. i've tried to adjust the amount, but it doesn't matter either.
flip top
the result: after washing it off, it doesn't leave any reside feeling nor feel stripping either. i don't feel it drying my skin after regular use. however, i also don't feel that this one is moisturizing either. unlike several other face was that i've tried, this one feels... nothing. but it does the work. however, it's marketed as a brightening facial cleanser, but after rinsing it off, i don't see the brightening effect.
how it looks like on my foreo
it's sad that it doesn't work as good as other brightening cleanser that i've tried before. other cleanser that i've tried really brighten my face after i rinse it off, but that wasn't the case with this one. so, this feels just like any other ordinary facial cleanser. i think it's suitable for all skin types, but since it doesn't work as it's supposed to do, i recommend you to try something else.

ever since i saw the ads of this product, i wanted to try it. however, the price is quite expensive. so i didn't want to buy it through a preorder system. fortunately, i got the chance to go to the US and i found it in sephora! i didn't want to break my wallet, so instead of buying the full size one, i bought the mini one instead. so, let's see whether the raved reviews are true.

this is the description from their website: a leave-in treatment mask that works on the molecular level to reverse hair damage in just 4 minutes. the k18 peptide is clinically proven to repair damage from bleach+color, chemical services and heat - with immediate and lasting results to restore strength, softness, smoothness and bounce to hair.
- takes damage repair further - reconnects both polypeptide chains (and a result, also reconnects disulfide bonds) for strength along the length + width of the hair - offering comprehensive, lasting damage repair.
- restores hair from even extreme damage - by working at the innermost layer of the hair, core strength and elasticity are renewed for strength, smooth, bouncy hair.
- delivers immediate and lasting results - hair is repaired from the first use and lasts past your next wash, for ongoing reparative benefits.
- simplified repair - convenient, leave-in formula works in just 4 minutes, with no extra rinse required
- works on all hair types - because k18peptide works on a molecular level (where all hair is the same), this product is effective on all hair types
the box
The packaging: it comes in a white box with red combination. There are a lot of descriptions on the sides and back of the box in english and french. And the ingredients list as well. The leave in mask comes in a white plastic bottle with pump head that’s covered with the same white plastic cap. I bought the mini size, which is just 15 ml. I believe there are bigger sizes, but i’m not sure how big they are. The pump works well and it squirts the right amount of product as well, so no complaint about the pump. However, you might want to keep the opening clean from product residue as it can dry up inside the opening and thus blocking the opening.
the bottle
The scent: this one smells floral? But it’s enjoyable and not annoying at all.
description at the back
The product: it’s a white thick lotion type. Learning from my past mistake, this time i read the instruction carefully first before using it. The instruction says to use one or two pumps before adding more. So i do. I use one or two pumps for most of my hair and add one more pump for the rest because there are some strands that i can’t reach. It’s easy to spread it around and it doesn’t make my hair feels greasy or anything.
the opening
The result: i have quite thick and frizzy hair, so the first thing that i notice is, it makes my hair feels soft and smooth. Yeah sure it doesn’t help much with the frizz, but it’s not targeted solely for frizz, so somehow it’s acceptable. The second time i use it, i can clearly see that it helps make my hair a lot smoother and softer. The frizz is manageable as well. However…. The result if not permanent. As i’ve said before, i exercise almost everyday, so when i’m drenched in sweat and the sweat touch my hair since my hair is quite long, it makes my hair frizzy instantly.
how it looks like on my hand
look how "tameable" my hair is
I have to say that it does the work as it’s promised. However, i still don't like how pricey it is. and how it can't help much with the frizziness. but i guess this one is already better than my previous hair oil, so i'm quite impressed with this one. considering the price, i truly can't say anything, aside from just buy the mini if you really, really want to try this one. as for me, this one really works and i have no complaint aside from the price. i will definitely repurchase this one if i have the budget.

i bought this when i bought the other moisturizers from glad2glow that i wanted to try. lately, i get curious to see glad2glow suddenly releases a lot of new products and they are hell lot similar to other brand's products. at first, i heard that this one is a local brand, but after searching for the truth myself, i found out that this one is not a local brand. in fact, this is another china's brand that's imported here. let's safe to say, it's quite different now than it used to. back then, they don't have a lot products in their line up and it's quite different with the other. the only similarity is the centella moisturizer. however, these days, a lot of their products are similar if not the same with other brand's. like the niacinamide, the mugwort, and the newest one, the syn-white one. anyway, it's such a shame because their products are really good. i like both moisturizers, but i can't say that i'll repurchase them after this.
the box
this is the description translated from their official marketplace channel: glad2glow 5% propolis hyaluronic acid barrier essence toner with main ingredients propolis, hyaluronic acid, and ceramide that can moist and soften facial skin. With lightweight texture and easy to absorb, it gives cooling sensation that can help soothe redness and acnes on the face. With regular usage, it will make skin softer and keep skin barrier healthy.
Benefits: soften skin texture, moist skin, keep skin barrier healthy.
Hero ingredients: propolis extract - soothe redness and acnes, hyaluronic acid - helps to lock skin moisture, ceramide - keep skin barrier healthy and retain moisture inside the skin cells.
the bottle
The packaging: it comes in a yellow box with plastic wrapping to secure it. The toner itself comes in a transparent glass bottle with white plastic pump head that’s covered with another transparent plastic cap. The bottle is made of glass, so it’s quite heavy. The bottle looks yellowish since the toner is yellowish as well. It comes in 40 ml which is not much for a toner. But this one is marketed as an essence toner, so maybe it’s a bit fair since essence usually is not as big as toner? The pump works well and squirt the right amount of toner so i have no problem with the pump.
the pump head
The scent: actually i think it’s unscented, but if i sniff really close, i can pick up a hint of honey sweet scent, but it’s very subtle.
how it looks like on my hand
The product: it looks yellowish in the bottle, but it looks transparent on my hand. Funny thing is, when i try it the first time, it’s a little bit viscous. Like just slightly. It wasn’t running down my palm when i squirt it on my palm, but after using it regularly, it’s as runny as other toner. But i can still use it with toner as well. But mostly i just pump it onto my palm and then pat it on my face straight.
it gives a bit glow but then absorbed completely
The result: this one is clearly slightly moisturizing and hydrating. It’s soothing as well. Last week, i had this redness spot on my neck that seems stubborn and wouldn’t go away even i’ve tried everything else. I was lazy to buy another soothing serum that i used to use, so i thought why not try this toner. So i put it on a cotton pad and then put it over the redness spot for two days and it helps a bit with the redness.

I have to say that it’s a shame that their new products are just generic. I like this toner as well as both moisturizers, but i doubt i will enjoy their new products as they seem to copy paste other brand’s formulation and packaging. However, if you don’t have any problem with using this brand, then you should try it as it really works and very affordable. However, for me, i won’t purchase anything else from this brand because i’ve lost my interest. my problem with this brand is not that it's made in china, but the fact that they try hard to conceal it. they don't state on the box that this is produced in china, and even put korean text on it, to make it look as if this is a korean product. yeah.. it looks shady, so no thanks.
it was rare to find tatcha set so when i spotted one, i automatically put it into my basket. the set was great as well. it contained several of their best-selling products. i've tried two of their best-selling moisturizer and i like them both. however, i feel indifference about their essence, which is a bum. anyway, i'm currently using two of their products, the cleansing oil and one of their face wash, but let's talk about their cleansing oil for now.
the whole set
this is the description from their website: this moisturizing 2-in-1 makeup remover and cleanser is formulated with camellia oil to gently remove even waterproof makeup, melt away excess oil, and nourish skin to feel softer than silk. the camellia cleansing oil thoroughly cleanses the skin without stripping it of its natural moisture, leaving skin feeling balanced and nourished. it does not contain mineral oil, so the liquid emulsifies completely with no oily residue. the hydrating formula of this facial cleansing oil draws out oils, removes sunscreen and waterproof makeup (even mascara), which makes it perfect for incorporating into your skincare ritual. ideal for all skin types, including dry skin, oily skin, sensitive skin, acne-prone skin, and combination skin.
description and ingredients list at the back
featured ingredients:
- japanese camellia oil (tsubaki): this featherweight botanical oil has been prized in Asia for centuries for its superb moisturizing and antioxidant activity. it is richer in oleic acid than olive oil, and is an excellent source of vitamin A, B, D and E. it is also blessed with nourishing omega fatty acids 3,6 and 9. all of these ingredients aid in the nourishment of your skin from the inside out.
- hadasei-3: a proprietary complex of rice, green tea, and algae. this trio of timeless, antioxidant-rich superfoods works in harmony to deliver plump, petal-soft skin at any age. crafted through a process of double fermentation, hadasei-3 contains essential amino acids and gentle AHAs like lactic acid to gently resurface as it deeply hydrates.

tatcha mini favorites, what's inside:
- the camellia cleansing oil (50ml)
- the rice wash (50ml)
- the deep cleanse (50 ml)
- the essence (25 ml)
- the water cream (10 ml)
- the dewy skin cream (10 ml)
the whole set
the packaging: since i bought this in a set, it comes in a pink/purple pouch with cardboard belt with descriptions on it. there's a plastic tray with all the products inside so everything is safe and secure. the cleansing oil comes in the mini size of the full size one. it comes in a white plastic bottle that's shaped like a bullet with screw cap. the opening is as big as any other cleansing oil opening. there's a very short description at the back of the bottle in english/french. the mini size is 50 ml which is quite decent for a mini size.
the bottle
the scent: there's no distinctive scent but it's been a while since i have this cleansing oil, so it might mess up with the scent.
short description at the back
the product: the oil is a bit thick, slightly thicker than my usual kose softymo one. but it's still spreadable. it emulsifies when i add a bit of water and rub it around. it doesn't sting my eyes when i open my eyes but it still makes my eyes cloudy. it also feels a bit slick compared to my previous cleansing oil.
the opening
the result: i never try this to remove mascara. i always use another mascara remover, so i can't say for sure about its ability to remove mascara. however, it works well to remove other makeup, like foundation, blush on and eyeliner. however, i feel the need to rub it a bit harder than usual. and after i wash it off, i can't get rid of the feeling the need to wash my face twice because i still feel like there's some residue left.

anyway, it's such a shame that this high-end brand can't beat my favorite drugstore cleansing oil. oh well. however, this one works well, non stripping and unscented, so i guess it will be okay for sensitive skin. so if you have the budget to buy this and you are curious to try it, then do it. but for me, i won't repurchase nor purchasing the full size one.
as usual, japan trip means sunscreen hoarding. and since biore loves to reformulate their sunscreens, it gives me a reason to buy the new version to try the new formula. anyway, this year i bought like 4 or 5 of their sunscreens, aside from the mist, and i've tried three, so let's try the gel for now. the last formulation, not so many people like the formula, so let's see about this one.

this is the translated description from their website: impressively light even after reapplying or double-layering! a water UV product. prevents uneven application on a microscopic level. can also be used for layering under makeup. provides a smooth finish for foundation as well. prevents dark spots and freckles caused by sunburn. ultra-waterproof (water resistance tested in water for 80 minutes). can be washed off with soap. for face and body. SPF 50+/PA ++++. doesn't leave white residue and won't feel sticky. formulated with hyaluronic acid, royal jelly extract and BG (moisturizing ingredients).
the packaging
on the left you can see the remnant of the plastic sealing that i've half-ripped before taking the picture
the packaging: it comes with the usual cardboard backing that contains the description at the back in japanese. they only stick the bottle to the backing and you can rip it off easily. they secure the bottle with plastic sealing. the sunscreen itself comes in blue plastic bottle and the color makes a gradation to white toward the bottom. the cap is white plastic screw cap and you can see the spout to dispense the sunscreen. for the gel type, the bottle is upright, while the essence is upside down. if you wonder what's the difference with the old packaging, they get rid of the italic text "aqua rich" across the body. the sunscreen comes in 70 ml which lately i find out that it's not much. i basically finish this one in a month!
the bottle
the scent: all biore sunscreen are scented and honestly i don't have problem with it because the scent is quite subtle for me, but i learn that it isn't the case with everyone, so yeah, be careful if you're sensitive to fragrance.
description at the back
the product: well.. i honestly don't know why they name it 'gel' when in fact the essence one is a bit thicker than the gel one. the gel one has more like lotion consistency, which is more runny, thus not suitable to be called 'gel' in my opinion, but it is what it is. anyway, even though this one is runnier, but when i spread it around i feel this one is richer than the essence. it feels slightly heavier thus i'm a bit worried when i try it since it's getting hotter here.
spout
the result: this one takes more than a minute to blend in. immediately after spreading it around, it gives white cast but it vanishes after it's completely absorbed. anyway, i don't quite like how i have to rub it to get rid of the white cast. as for the protection, it works well. i manage to survive my bali trip without getting burnt. however, compared to the essence one, this one feels a bit heavier and richer.
left: how it looks like on my hand
right: it gives a slight glow
i think this one is more suitable for normal to dry skin or for those who live in colder places. as for me, i can still manage but i can see i start to glow earlier than usual. if i use glowy base makeup, it makes me look like a light bulb in an hour. if i don't let it rest for quite sometime before applying makeup, it even messed up my base and made it look cakey. easy to say that compared to the essence, i like the essence better than the gel. clearly won't repurchase this one. but if you're curious, this is still affordable so it won't blow your wallet.
as i've said, i wanted to try underrated local brand and several months ago i bought some stuff from kitschy. i've tried their toner and their moisturizer, so it's only the serum left. both the toner and moisturizer are so-so for me, so let's see if my skin agrees with the serum. actually, i'm a bit hesitant because this one contains niacinamide, which my skin doesn't quite like. but it also contains peptide that my skin enjoys. so let's see how it goes.

this is the description from their website: a powerful glow for a powerful self. giving you a potent glow that also moisturizes and a visibly smoother, more even-toned skin, overtime.
what makes it special:
- forward glow formulation combining niacinamide and peptide in one bottle.
- the soothing and moisturizing agent (aloe vera, rose extract, glycerin and sodium hyaluronate) work together to help hydrate and plump your skin, bringing you to a higher level of healthy glow.
- works as an anti-aging over time.
power glow is especially made for all skin types.
the box
the packaging: just like other kitschy products, this one also comes in light yellow/orange box with retro design. the box is made of recycled paper and they seal the outer part with plastic sealing. there's a bit description at the sides and back of the box as well as the ingredients list but nothing on the bottle. the bottle itself is a transparent green glass bottle with white plastic dropper head. the dropper is a bit unusual since this is the first time i try this type of dropper. you have to press the top of the dropper to suck the serum and then lift it out of the bottle and then press it again to release the serum. however, since the top part is quite hard, it takes quite some time to getting used to it. another cons: since the serum is quite runny, sometimes it drops onto my palm even before i press the top part. it comes in 20 ml which is the usual size for a local serum.
the bottle
the scent: honestly, it's been awhile since i use the serum, so i forgot how it smells like. maybe it's unscented or have a subtle scent, i can't say for sure.
how it looks like inside the dropper
the product: as i've said before, the serum is very runny, like liquid. or a very runny oil. it looks goldish inside the dropper but when i put it onto my palm, it looks transparent. anyway, since it's runny, it's easy to spread it around. it takes awhile to be absorbed though.
how it looks like on my hand
the result: afterward, i can see the glow that it gives. it's just as its name, a glow activated serum. after using it for about a week (i use it every afternoon and night, fyi), i start to see a difference. especially in my forehead area and on my cheek bones part. i have to remind you though, that i also use retinol serum every other day so it might affect the result that i'm getting. i can't see about the soothing part, but i can definitely say that this one is moisturizing.
no filter: look how glowing my forehead is!
i can say that this is a very good serum. it works just as it's promised. i think it's suitable for all skin types but maybe for dry skin, you will need something else, especially if you're using actives like retinol and other acids. my only complaint aside from the hard dropper head is the size. i wish it comes in bigger size because it's just so good. will i repurchase? maybe. i will definitely put it in my repurchase list if i ever run out of products to try. price wise, it's affordable and it's easy to get their products since they're local, so give it a try if you're curious.
okay, let me repeat myself. i bought this before the whole commotion regarding project S came up. however, even before the whole commotion, i've made up my mind that this would be my last purchase of skintific because most of their products are so-so for me, so i won't bother buying another one after this. anyway, around the same time, i also bought glad2glow moisturizers, and one of them is a gel moisturizer which is similar to this one, so i might compare them both.

this is the translated description from their official marketplace channel: moisturizer with a lightweight and unique gel texture, feels like water and gives cooling sensation that soothe skin. contains 5% panthenol and ectoin, this moisturizer is effective to help soothe redness and calm acne skin. regular usage can help control oil. suitable for acne prone skin and oily skin.
benefits:
- soothe inflammed and acneic skin
- reduce redness
- control oil on face
hero ingredients:
- panthenol : reduce and soothe inflammed acne and redness
- ectoin : soothe and reduce redness and restore skin from external danger
- ceramide : moisturize and strengthen skin barrier.
the box
the packaging: it comes in a blue metallic box that's quite reflective. there's a description as well as the ingredients list on the sides and back of the box, but there's no text confirming that this is a chinese product anymore. anyway, they seal the box with plastic sealing so it's a bit too much protection. the moisturizer comes in a transparent/slightly bluish glass jar with silver metallic screw cap. there's a plastic separator with a tiny spatula on top of the separator. the spatula is too small for my liking, but it's not practical to use separate bigger spatula because my mornings are always hectic. the moisturizer comes in 45g which is slightly bigger for a moisturizer. since the jar is transparent, it's easy to see the remaining product from the outside so i can prepare myself and buy another one when this one is almost empty. i have to remind you that the glass jar is quite heavy so it might interfere with the delivery cost.
description and ingredients list on the box
the scent: this one is scentless but if you sniff real close, you can smell synthetic scent which is probably due to the ingredients of the moisturizer.
the jar
the product: this is a thick transparent gel type moisturizer, which is similar to glad2glow centella one. however, i think this one is slightly thicker, but not as thick as dear me beauty one. it's also slippery just like the glad2glow one, so using a spatula is a must since it's hard to scoop the moisturizer out with bare finger. again, just like glad2glow, this one melts easily with body heat. so once you put it on your face and you rub it around with your finger, it will melt into watery traces.
spatula and plastic cover
the result: this one is a lightweight moisturizer so it mainly hydrates and slightly moisturizes. since this melts easily, this is also easy to absorb and takes a few seconds to be completely absorbed. once it's absorbed, it only leaves slight glow but then nothing but doesn't leave completely matte. it gives basic hydration and i think it's enough for quick mornings.
how it looks like inside the jar
left: how it looks like on my hand
right: after blending it
i do agree that this one is suitable for normal to oily skin since it's very lightweight. it feels refreshing to use and gives enough hydration especially on hot days. however, i can't say much about the soothing effect since when i used this moisturizer, it wasn't as hot as few last days so my skin was okay back then. now, i've mentioned a few times that this is similar to glad2glow. but if i have to pick which one i like better, i can answer confidently that i like glad2low better. the feeling is more lightweight than this one, so i prefer glad2glow one. but, if you're curious, then give both a try since both are very affordable. as for me, i won't repurchase this one or any other skintific products.
when i went to japan, i always want to try their hair products, but aside from the famous camellia hair oil (that i didn't like) and the fino mask, i don't know what else to try. i've seen a lot of people buying a bulk size of their shampoo and hair treatments, as well as hair oil, but i just don't know what to buy, so last time, i just randomly picked anything that caught my eyes. one of them is this hair oil. i've tried some of lucidol products, but mostly local. this time, i want to try the original japanese version one.
this is the description from the singapore's website: deep repair, featherlike feel. a winning formula - known as 'liquid gold', argan oil is an organic product extracted from the core of argan trees commonly found in morocco. rich in healthy and hydrating properties such as fatty acids and vitamin E, argan oil moisturizes and promotes healthy hair growth. this exotic precious blend not only repairs damaged hair, treats split ends but also leaves a veil of natural healthy shine.
- high temperature compression technology : compressed under 10,000 deep sea pressure, the beneficial nutrients are locked in to beautify our hair. each oil compound is compressed into a larger surface, blending and spreading better to boost quicker absorption and to coat each hair strand with a light and elegant smooth finishing.
the box
frizz care: tames and controls frizzy hair.
- contains moisturizing and hair softening ingredients that make wavy frizzy hair manageable, light and tidy, while protecting hair from frizz due to humidity and sweat
- contains heat repair ingredient that protects and coats hair surface using heat
- lightweight, non-sticky and fast absorbing serum texture
- for damaged hair
- prevents frizz while deeply repairs hair
- UV and heat protection
- light floral fragrance
the bottle
the packaging: this line has 7 different types and all comes in similar design. everything comes in a gold box with oil drop illustration at front, only with different color band. for the frizz care, it's pink. there's a lot of description on the box but everything is in japanese. when i first use it, i was confused. i translated the description on the box and apparently it has this QR code that you can scan and it will direct you to a youtube video where they will show you how to use the oil. thank goodness for that, or else i won't know how to use the hair oil. the hair oil itself comes in a dark brown glass bottle with label that has the same design as the box. the gold plastic pump is covered with a cloudy gold transparent cap. the size is 60 ml and it lasts for quite some time.
description at the back
the scent: this one has a light floral fragrance, as described.

the product: so this is where i tell you why i got confused the first time using it. it is marketed as a hair oil, so obviously, i thought it will be liquid, just like other hair oil. but apparently, it's a semi-solid oil. like gel type serum? if that makes sense. anyway, i squirt it to my palm and i got confused, how much should i use? luckily, there's the video so i end up knowing that i should use two pumps for one hair part and another pump or two for the rest of my hair. a little goes a long the way as it's quite thick.
how it looks like on my hand
the result: at first, since i don't know how much to use, i end up using too much so my hair ends up being too oily and limp. even though i had blow dried it with hair dryer, it's still too oily. after using it as per instructed, i have no problem. however, since my heat protection is also an oil, i decided not to use it and only use once of them before drying my hair. anyway, i have to be careful with this as this can get oily pretty quick if i use a bit too much. but if i use the right amount, it makes my hair tameable, soft and smooth. however, it can't seem to get rid of the frizz completely.

anyway, this is a good hair oil, but somehow it's not enough for my hair. my hair is still frizzy, especially if i don't style it right away. looking at the website, the one that i choose is the richest one. like it's targeted for damaged and frizzy hair, so i doubt the other would work on my hair better. anyway, i can't say for you, but this hair oil is pretty thick and obviously fragranced, so decide for yourself whether it's right for you or not. but this one is pretty good and not that expensive. but you have to remember that this comes in a glass bottle so it's quite heavy and it might interfere with the delivery cost. as for me, i won't repurchase this because i've already had a list of other hair oil to try.
