most of you might know skinfood whitening line which is skinfood tomato whitening line. well, for 2014, they renew it and upgrade it into premium tomato whitening line, which is consisted with the toner, essence, emulsion, cream, and milky pack. the original tomato line is designed for oily skin, and the premium one also targeted people with combination or oily skin. so, whitening purpose plus oily skin.. i'm hooked. and luckily i can get my hand on the trial kit sample, which is consisted with toner, essence, emulsion and cream. but i decided to try them separately. and the first one to try is the emulsion.

for you who haven't known what emulsion is, basically emulsion is a lighter moisturizer, usually for people who has combination or oily skin. for those who has dry skin, you might want to add cream after emulsion. though there are a lot of hybrid gel-creams designed for oily skin, somehow i'm intrigued to try the emulsion. FYI, this is the second emulsion that i've tried. the first one gives me breakouts, so i do hope this one gives better result.

this is the description from eng.theskinfood.com: contains 20% sun-kissed tomato extract and stabilized vitamin C derivative. a brightening emulsion that promotes pure, bright skin.

if you can see the picture above, the concentration of the tomato extract is different between each product. for emulsion, it's 20%. okay now.. let's move on to the review..

the packaging: the emulsion sample is placed in a screw top tiny plastic bottle. similar to the other emulsion sample bottle, but this one is bigger, so the opening is also bigger, and it makes it easier to get the emulsion out, unlike the other one. the plastic bottle is transparent, so you can see the product's height inside the bottle.

the scent: hmmm.. as usual, i'm stupid about scent.. but for me, it smells nice and so subtle, so it's a win situation for me.

the product: it's a white cream, very runny in consistency. and it's watery too.. very quick to be absorbed.. and it's true about emulsion. it's very lightweight, not greasy at all. i think it feels like water, but thicker. very refreshing. i think people with oily skin will really like this emulsion. oh, and a tiny bottle lasts for almost 1,5 months.

the result: okay, since it's supposed for whitening, i guess i don't use it long enough to give verdict about the whitening, but people told me that i looked more radiant.. but again, perhaps it's the pregnancy that makes me glow. though i'm not sure how those hormones make my skin glow.. hahaha.. i never believe in that kind of stuff, that you will look glowy when you're pregnant. all i can say, it has very good oil control. i'm surprised when i wear complete makeup to church couple weeks ago. usually, my nose will start to shine after 2-3 hours. but my nose was still matte even after i got home. which is unusual! and i used my sunblock too.. usually it's the one that makes my face greasy. and yesterday, when i was just finished taking shower after swimming, i forgot to bring my skincare with me, and i touched my bareface.. and i'm quite surprised to feel that my skin becomes smoother.. ohh..lovely..

so, overall i'm really impressed with this emulsion. unfortunately though, i've made my mind and bought the nature rep cream.. probably if i finished my cream i will buy the full version of this emulsion. for now, i do recommend this one for those who has oily/combination skin, lives in hot humid country (like indonesia!), and looking for brightening effect. but for those who has dry skin, probably you might want to skip this one or use this as combination with other cream.

i have no preference in my cleansing foam, all i want is the fresh feeling after washing my face. and i have good experience with my previous etude house baking powder pore cleansing foam, and my husband loves it too, but unfortunately it's out of order in my usual online store. so i decided to pick the sister/brother, the baking powder bb deep cleansing foam.

this is the description on the back of the bottle: baking powder pore and bb deep cleansing foam
formulated with baking powder to penetrate and cleanse deep within pores to remove makeup and residues. ideal for bb cream removal. 100% natural fragrance, dye free.
active ingredients: baking powder

the packaging: it's packaged in a big white-blue tube like its sister/brother. but this one only contains 150ml, not 170ml like its sister/brother. it also has aluminium foil to seal the opening of the tube, so it's pretty safe for ordering it online.

the scent: i think it smells just like the pore cleansing one, a bit lemon-citrusy scent, but very subtle.

the product: it's a white cream almost paste substance. it has tiny scrubs in it. i can feel the scrubs more easily in this one. but it's not harsh at all.

the result: i feel my face squeaky clean, just like the pore cleansing one, and a little bit whitening effect just like the pore one. since this is supposed to remove bb cream, i will try it later...

overall, i think this one has the similar performance like its sister/brother, so i don't have any problems juggling between these two.

yeah i know, all of you must say "collagen is no use when used on skin". but what can i say? i'm intrigued by power10, and the third serum on my "must try" list is the CO effector. so why not try it? as you all know, it's skin has various serums and essences in the power 10 lines. i'm curious with their VC, VB, PO and CO effector, which all of them i've tried except for VB.. i'll try VB after this one.. so though i've bought VC by accident, i think i'll but another serum for it's skin since the price is reasonable.

this is the description on their official website: collagen serum concentrated with vegetable collagen extracts hydrates skin from the inside, giving it a look of effervescence and resilience immediately after applying.

the packaging: the full size product is in a glass bottle with plastic dropper. the color of the bottle is different between each serum. for CO it's brown. and the sample sachet is shaped like the bottle.
the smell: i can't pick certain smell of this serum, but when i try to sniff it harder, i think i can smell something that reminds me of thrombophob gel.. which is a medicated gel.. hahaha.. weird. but since it's soooo subtle, i barely smell it.
the product: i forgot to snap picture of the product since i used it at night.. but it's a clear gel. the consistency is similar to other serum. and it's absorbed quickly too. one sachet can last for 3-4 usages.
the result: since i only use this probably for a week, not significant changes in my skin structure, but i feel my skin smoother. and no breakouts too...FYI, i'm 4 mo pregnant when i tried this stuff.. so, the hormone might mess up the result too.. but all i know it has good oil control. even better than vc.. which is weird. usually anti aging serum is oilier...ah well.. since many said i have to use it for a looonngg time before noticing the difference.. i might skip this one and save my money to splurge on missha. i get the same feeling about missha but better since i can see some brightening effect too.. but i still have skinfood serum and i don't know what else.. so i probably have enough money by the time i have to decide which one to buy.

the sample
etude house has this sunprise line, which consisted with many sunblocks. i have no idea what's the difference between them, but i have tried the sunprise gel and now i'm trying the must daily. i also have all proof sample, so i'll try it later. i've been trying to search the product description from etude website, but i can't find any. so, this is the description from en.koreadepart.com:
major ingredients: acai berry, arcerola, aloe vera, linden flower, vitamin D
description: gel type sun lotion strong on sun prevention with non sticky moisture application. skin care type sun lotion. protect skin from harmful environment giving healthy skin.

since i only have one sample, so i can say much about this one.
the packaging: the full version is like the picture. my sample is also in white sachet with the same picture as the full version one.
the smell: i can't pick any distinct smell, but since the gel smells nice, probably the scent is very subtle so my nose can't pick anything.
the product: it's a whitish cream, but on watery side, not thick at all. it absorbs quickly to my skin and didn't leave any white cast.
the result: no white cast, and the oil control is as good as the gel one.

sooo.. i have no idea what's the difference between the gel and must daily, but from the name, i supposed this one is suitable for everyday use. well, i like the gel one, so i still haven't decided yet which one to get, the gel or the must daily.

i can't believe i haven't written any review about this mascara yet! though i love my previous max factor clump defy mascara, but i get bored very easily, so i get this mascara when there's a promo in the department store.

this is the description on their official website: complete your winged eye look with volumised and fanned out lashes. false lash butterfly wings mascara instantly volumises at the roots and stretches your lashes outwards for a winged eye effect.

i have to admit, i'm quite lazy when it comes to mascara. i'm hoping it can lift my eyelashes and thicken them. but sometimes i'm lazy to curl my eyelashes beforehand. sooo.. i just use my mascara.. and sometimes it will clump my eyelashes. my bad....

the packaging: the tube is quite funny. usually most mascara tubes are almost cylindric, but bigger in the middle. but this one, half of it is cylindrical and the rest of it is flat.
the product: the brush is big like max factor's, but the shape is unusual.. at the end it becomes longer.. just like fan. i guess the smaller bristles are meant to thicken my eyelashes, and the longer bristles are meant to lengthen my eyelashes.
the result: oh.. it do works like magic. it do lengthen my eyelashes and thicken them. but if i'm not careful and didn't clean my wand first, it will clump my eyelashes.

so far, i love it, but i don't understand fully about how to use the wand correctly.. so sometimes i rock it, but sometimes i don't. hehehe... for you who like trying new mascara, this one can be in your list.

that's how my lashes look like after using the mascara
i know... i've been blogging about makeup lately.. but i'm not in the mood to try new skincare.. especially at night. most of the samples i had are night creams and night serums and sleeping pack.. *sigh* every time i open my closet i wanted to try them, but then comes the night and that spirit just vanished. well, for now let's just play with some makeup ..

as i mentioned in another blog post, since i've already played with sephora palette which has a lot of colors but not quite wearable, so i decided to pick new makeup kit separately. i've bought nyx powder blush, and i'm intended to buy another one or two, but i still can't decide which shade. and now, i'm buying the famous revealed palette. ah well, you might said it's a palette! yes i know, but i'm bored easily, and i believe i won't be satisfy with single eyeshadows, so i searched for a palette, not so many colors, but in neutral shade which will be wearable for everyday use. and i came upon this revealed palette.

as you all know, the famous eyeshadow palettes were urban decay's naked series. my sister had their naked 1. and it was tooo pricey for me (remember, a mom?) so i decided to find the dupes for it. and i stumbled upon several choices. the famous one and recommended from various blogger is the coastal scents revealed palette, which is the dupe for naked 1 and 2. coastal scents has just released the 2nd revealed, which is the dupe for naked 3, but i'm not into rosy gold shades, so i choose the first revealed palette instead. oh, and many drugstores brands have joined in the naked dupe wagon, i remembered nyx have nude on nude palette and natural palette, and the latest one is maybelline with their the nude palette. i've read on several blog that nyx natural palette and maybelline the nude might be cheap, but the color payoff are not that good, so they said to pass them. soooo.. i'm back to coastal scents. and i've just finished my master degree, so i decided to gift myself a little treat.. hehehe..

okay.. move on to the review..
this is the description from the official website: expose your natural beauty with this exquisite collection of nude and metallic hues. these smooth, powdered shadows blend seamlessly to create an array of day or evening looks. the slim palette holds all twenty shadows, allowing for easy on-the-go application.

the packaging: it's a slim palette, with cardbox cover and magnetic lid. very slim indeed compared to naked palette. unfortunately, there's no mirror inside.. so the on-the-go application can't be applied as you have to hold another mirror to do so.
the color: the color payoff is good, just as advertised. though there's the first nude shade, the first shadow on the top row which is similar to my skintone.. so i have difficulty to make it shown. though it's perfect to use as base though.. oh, and the color payoff are different between each shades, probably since they have different finish.
the product: each pan is quite big for me.. since i'm sure i can't finish a whole single eyeshadow pan. the pan is bigger than sephora's pan, so i'm not sure if i can finish them all.. i've read in some blogs that the pan size is smaller than urban decay's, but just a bit. so i guess it's worth the money. you get similar quality but way cheaper. plus, it comes in 20 shades, while urban decay's only has 12 shades. oh and some pans are more powdery, but again, it's different due to its finish. and no, it's not very powdery like drugstore ones. the only downside is they don't name the shade... and it makes it more difficult to remember.. ("i use this #3 shade from the top".. blablablabla... is more difficult to remember than "i use toasted shade on my crease")

overall, i'm satisfy with this palette. i hope i can try them all, but since i'm not that good in applying eye makeup plus having the monolid and all, i still have to learn to use all the shades. if you're on a budget but still want to look good on everyday base, and looks professional at work, i recommend this palette. it's worth the money.. really.. don't try the drugstores one just because they're cheaper..

the outer box on top and the palette at the bottom

the inside of the palette, no mirror

since they don't give any names on the shade, i have to number them
