i have a bad habit of not checking products first. i was in muji store browsing travel sizes items to try. one of them was their cleansing oil. i have tried their toners and i like it, so i wanted to see their cleansing oil as well. i didn't check their ingredients first, so i kind of regret buying it before checking first. you'll see the reason later.

this is the description on their website: a skin-friendly cleansing oil that uses olive oil as the main ingredient and 100% of the oil components are plant based. fragrance- free, color-free, mineral oil-free, paraben-free, alcohol-free, allergy-tested (not all people are allergic).
ingredients list: hydrogenated polyisobutene, PEG-7 glyceryl cocoate, ethyl oleate, sorbitan oleate, olea europaea (olive) fruit oil. simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, helianthus annuus (hybrid sunflower) oil, DPG, orange (citrus aurantium dulsis) flower water, water, BG, tocopherol, prunus persica (peach) leaf extract, prunus armeniaca (apricot) juice, glycerin, propylparaben, butylparaben

the packaging: the oil comes in transparent plastic bottle with flip top since it's only a travel size. it has description at the back in japanese, but since i bought it in singapore, there's another label with short description as well as the ingredients list in english on it. this is the travel size so it only comes in 50 ml. i honestly forgot if this one came with any sealing on it at all.
the bottle
the scent: this is where i regret it. i was looking at the label and saw that olive oil was not at the top, so i thought it won't be a problem. but the moment i tried it, i instantly regret it. it smells just like DHC cleansing oil that i don't like at all. so i have to hold my breath as long as i wash my face. however, this really has no added fragrance, so it would be okay for sensitive skin.
added label
the product: the oil is a clear one, it might have a tinge of color because of its natural ingredients. the consistency is quite runny, it's just a bit viscous than water. it's easy to spread around, and emulsify a bit after adding water.
flip top
the result: it does clean well. even mascara. but i don't use japanese mascara that's hard to erase. i think western mascara are easier to get rid of. i also don't use lip tint or heavy eye makeup as well. so for my daily makeup routine (bb cream or tint moisturizer, blush, bronzer, a bit eyeshadow, tint balm or lipstick and mascara), it still works well. after rinsing it off with water, i don't feel it's drying my skin at all. no residue at all.
it's clear so it doesn't show on my hand

third pic from left: after adding water
right: after rinsing it
now you'd know why i don't like this one. although this works well, doesn't strip my skin and really affordable, i really can't stand the smell. just like DHC one. however, the website stated that this one is fully plant based, so if you're looking for a vegan skincare product, you can try this one. i guess muji is easier to get worldwide, so you don't have to go to japan to buy it. as for me, i don't think i'll repurchase this one.
i decided to declutter some of my makeup. mostly my makeup would be expired by now, but most of them are still okay. i don't notice any difference in its performance nor its color or smell or anything, so i keep using most of them. but i get rid some of lip products, mainly because i never use them anymore, or the color was not my cup of tea anymore. anyway, my lips chapped these days, and most my lip products are matte (they were lip creams anyway), so it hurt my lips even more. i like canmake tinted lip balm but the color is dark enough to put on top of my other lip product, so i decided to look for more subtle color. i was going to get sunniesface tinted lip balm, but i decided to put it on hold and  get syca official one. i've seen their brand name here and there on instagram, but i never get the chance to really find out what their products are, so let's begin with their tint balm. i guess they don't have many products for now, but maybe more in the future.

this is the description from their website: lips are sensitive to moisture loss. upgrade your lip product with this tint balm to enhances your natural lip color while also doubling as lip care that moisturizes and offers a subtle pouty effect and keeps lips hydrated for hours. tint balm - a hydrating lip balm with a sheer wash of color that gives you a natural healthy glow. it's a timeless handbag essential. no chapped lips, just glow!
shade 01: soft shell - leaves the lips with slightest wash of peach. just a subtle tint and a bit of plumpness will make it looks totally natural & healthy. why it's special? specially formulated to moisturize your lips with shea butter and jojoba oil that helping to prevent and repair chapping. it contains uv filter and uv absorber for protecting your delicate lips from uv damage. the lightweight texture adds a natural-looking shade to your lips with fresh glowing finish look. a perfect substitute when your lips are too chapped to wear lipstick. the sharp diagonal tip makes it extremely easy to apply, only need one simple swipe.
what's in it: this nourishing tinted lip balm formulated with natural ingredients such as butyrospernum parkii (shea) butter (for moisturizing), simmondsia chinensis (jojoba oil for emollient/softening), tocopheryl acetate (synthetic form of vitamin E for antioxidant), uv absorber/filter, polyglyceryl-2 triisostearate, bis-diglyceryl polyacyladipate-2, polyethylene, squalane, phenyl trimethicone, ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, cera microcristallina, glyceryl diistostearate/ hydrogenated rosinate, diisostearyl malate, phenoxyethanol, flavor, titanium dioxide, silica, bisabolol, talc, methicone.

the packaging: since i bought this from sociolla, of course they would send it wrapped with bubble wrap. but if you buy from them straight, they might use different packaging method, so keep that in mind. anyway.. my biggest issue was the packaging. i received a small cloth pouch which has the brand name at front. then inside it there's a small board box where they put the tint lip balm inside. on the box there's another cute picture with shade name written on it. why use double packaging? if they put it inside a box, there's no need for the pouch. i hope they could use less packaging in the future. anyway.. the tint lip balm comes in regular lipstick shape, however, the body is not made of plastic, but feels like cardboard. if it's really cardboard, then it might be more recyclable.. but that's just my guess. there's also a label at the bottom with shade name on it. this tint lip balm comes in 3,5 g which is the usual lipstick size. it's less than my TBS lip balm (4,5 g), but more than canmake tinted lip balm (2,7 g).
the pouch
the box
the shade: there are only two shades to choose from, soft shell and coral sand. soft shell is described as a wash of peach, while coral sand will give you a flush of pink. both the product pictures look very vibrant in the website, as well as the product swatch. but the "on the model" picture is more accurate. it looks similar to my experience. i pick soft shell as it looks like really subtle. doesn't give a lot of color but still gives some sheen. and it's just what i imagined it. on top of my nude color lipsticks, it works well to add shine without interfering a lot with the color.
ain't the tube and the box looks very girly?
the tube inside the box
the product: like i said before, it comes in usual lipstick form, even to the pointy tip. personally, i don't like pointy tip. somehow it is a bit awkward putting it on my upper lips. i prefer slanted tip like canmake one. compared to canmake, this one is bit hard, but still easy to glide on my lips. however, after a few use, i notice that it's warmed up a bit and easier to glide even more.
the tint lip balm
hand swatch
the result: since this is a tinted lip balm, remember that it won't give you opaque color. one swipe on my lips only gives added sheen, while after two or more swipes, the color starts to show. it's just as described, a wash of peach. not too warm but still on my lips it looks toward orange family. i think if you're super cool tone, the other shade would be more suitable for you. this one works well on top of other nude lip color that i have. in terms of moisture, i'm glad that this one gives moisture to my lips just like canmake one. i was afraid that it would turn out a dud like my previous nyx tinted lip balm. again, this is just a tinted lip balm, so obviously it would vanish after eating or drinking. on its own, you can just add more to touch up. but if you wear other lip product beneath it, especially a matte lip cream, it would better to completely remove and re-do it all than just add more on top.
top: full face swatch
bottom left: lip swatch, bottom right: hand swatch
i have to say i'm satisfied with my first purchase. at first i was afraid that the shade would be off for me, considering that some peach doesn't look good on me. but turns out it looks okay. then it's similar to canmake that i love as well. it's moisturizing my lips and even i use matte lip cream, it helps moisturize my lips so my lips are not as chapped as before now. price wise, it's really affordable. i think you can get it from their official website or from sociolla. i'm curious about their lip tint as well, but considering i still have lots of lip creams to go through, i will have to put that plan on hold. if you feel matte lip cream is too much, and want something more refreshing but not a gloss, then you should consider this tint lip balm. however, they only has two shades for now, so keep that in mind.
you might be bored listening to my saying that liese bubble hair color is my favorite hair dye. ever since i found liese in japan around 2016, i've been buying it every time i went to japan. i know you can buy it outside japan, i found them in singapore as well, but the color range is different. recently they renew the packaging, but i don't think they reformulate it as well. however, now there are two categories, the natural series and the design series. in singapore, there are 7 shades in natural series and 12 shades in design series (although the last one is in black), while in japan there are 9 shades of natural series and 11 shades in the design series. last time i went to japan, i bought two shades from natural series and one from design series. i've used the soft brown from the natural series (if you're curious about the result, you can see it here). this time, i'll be using the design series, so let's see will there be a different?

since the shade is in singapore collection as well, i'll use the description from kao singapore's website:
get your desired hair color effortlessly with easy foam! great color turnout from roots to hair tips. thick foam fully coats hair for even color turnout. smooth and moist finishing, contains hair protecting ingredient (lanolin acid).
cassis berry is in the design series, pink category. cassis berry is a sweet pink for pure and endearing charisma. brightness level 3.
the box
back of the box
the packaging: the previous edition has the same design for all the shades, with pink boxes, only the picture of the girls are different for each shade. while the newer one has different designs. for the natural series, it comes in white boxes, with different girls for each shade. while the design series comes in various colors according to the tone of the shade. for cassis berry, it comes in pink box with the picture of the girl at front. you can see the prediction color on top and a lot of descriptions at the back in japanese. however, i tried to find this at both websites but i couldn't find it. i guess this shade is discontinued.
even if you can't read japanese, you can see these pictures as instruction
at the bottom you can see what you're expected to see inside the box
the shade: like i've said before, this is cassis berry. it's supposed to be in design series, pink category with brightness level 3.
at the top you can how the color is supposed to be
you have to mix solution in bottle number 1 to bottle number 2,
and that's the gloves provided plus the pump head
the product: just like the other shade, there are two bottle inside, a big one and a small one. you're supposed to put the solution from the small bottle to the big bottle and turn it upside down for 5 times then change the cap to a pump head. they give you a pair of gloves, but no cape. so if you don't have any cape, you'd better use old clothes that you won't mind getting stained, or use old towel to cover your shoulder. they also give a hair treatment in sachet. there's a booklet about how to use it, but everything is written in japanese. anyway, after the solution is mixed completely, you should put the pump head and then start pumping the bubble out and put it on your hair. with this one, you don't need to put it from inside to outside or bottom to top. they even suggest you start from the top, from your hair part down to bottom. after you finish putting it all over your hair, you should rub it to make it foam even more then put your hair in a bun on top of your hair. wait for 30-45 minutes and then wash it off. if you have long hair, you should finish the whole bottle. but you could use less if you have shorter hair. don't forget to use the hair treatment after you wash your hair.
left: before
middle: after (freshly after coloring it)
right: after a week or so it became brighter
the result: after the first washing, the color is more subdued. but after a few wash, it should be brighter. as for the cassis berry, somehow on me it doesn't look pink at all. i think it's more like reddish brown. however, it's brighter than the previous one, which is not surprising since this is brighter in color. though both in the same brightness level. since i'm into red shades, i like this one a lot. i tried to remember the other shade that i've tried, i think it is similar to rose tea brown shade.

i might be bias toward this hair dye. but for me, it's the perfect one so far. i like how easy it is to use. they have so many color options as well. so if pink is not your alley, then you could pick other color. green, blue, violet, and a lot of shade of brown. though you can purchase this online, the price is much cheaper if you buy this straight in japan. as for me, once i've finished my stash, i'd probably try other brand. any suggestion?
up until recently, i never heard of haum. nor did i know that it was a local brand. ever since i've stopped using cosrx bha solution, i never tried anything else that contains BHA. i wanted to try BHA again, but i don't know what to try. especially since the pandemic started, it's harder to get imported stuff. i've been changing my skincare to local ones because i made a promise that i'll try local ones more since last year, and i'll continue it to this year. plus it's easier to get now, so why not. oh well, i saw haum bha one from an instagrammer, so i became interested. the price point is good too. so i decided to buy it. let's see how it goes.

this is the description from their tokopedia page (i translated it since it was in indonesian): salicylic acid serum 2% water based, to treat skin by cleansing it to the deepest pores. helps to fight acne, helps exfoliate the skin (replace the dead skin cells with new skin cells), fades spots on the skin, brightens dull skin, moisturizes and evens out skin texture.
how to use: use the serum after washing your face. spread it out using finger with circling motion and massage it on face area. use it twice a day, day and night for maximal result or once a day at night. using LCID must be accompanied by moisturizer and it's strongly advised to use sunscreen to keep skin moisture and protect the skin from direct sun exposure.
ingredients list (from the box): water, polysorbate 20, salicylic acid, amylopectin, dextrin, hamamelis virginiana water, phenoxyethanol, xanthan gum, chlorphenesin, hydroxyethyl cellulosa, sodium benzoate, glycerin, pentylene glycol, alcohol, sodium hyaluronate, lactic acid, serine, sodium lactate, sorbitol, urea, tetrasodium EDTA, sodium chloride, allantoin.

description at the back
the packaging: i have to say that this is the first time i find a local brand that sent a product without any plastic. they place the bottle in a cardboard box, quite a thick one. there's description as well as the ingredients list at the back of the box. though they put the sticker label to secure the box, there's no plastic bubble inside to secure the bottle. and to my surprised, the bottle is a glass bottle one. quite heavy too, but it arrived intact, safe and sound. the bottle is a dark brown glass bottle with a pump head. they covered the pump head with dark brown plastic cap. the pump works okay in a way (you'd find out why later).
the bottle
the pump head
the scent: it doesn't have any added scent, but if you sniff really hard, you can smell a bit foul scent, probably because of the ingredients. so i guess it'd be safe for sensitive skin.
the serum on my hand

after blending it
the product: it's a liquid type of serum. it might be slightly viscous than water, but it's still gliding easily like water. now, let's discuss the pump. the pump works well. it's just i don't think it's the right choice to dispense the product. if i push the pump too hard, the serum would squirt all over too much. i think a dropper would be a better choice, but it might be difficult and the chance of spilling might be increased moreover since they don't use any plastic bubble. but it's not overly annoying. i can still pump the right amount after several days. if this is your first acid, looking at the ingredient, it's quite gentle because aside from salicylic acid (the BHA that they used), it also has sodium hyaluronate, glycerin and urea which all are humectant and moisturizing agent, and also allantoin, which is soothing. so i don't think you should worry that it would irritate your skin. but if you're curious about the comparison with other BHA products, you should know that this one has the same concentration as paula choice's BHA (also 2% salicylic acid) but less than COSRX BHA power liquid (4% betaine salicylate).
progress picture
the result: since i've already used retinol, the power of all actives, i don't think i need to use this sparingly, so i just use this daily from the start. to give you clear picture of my routine, i use vitamin c daily in the morning, and i use the bha in the afternoon and retinol at night. all of them daily. of course i use other hydrating and moisturizing products to protect my skin barrier. i use the serum after toner and before any serums. this is watery, so i guess i can put it in watery essence/serum slot. for me, this serum doesn't irritate me at all even though i used it in combination with other actives. i have to say, so far, i don't see any effect in preventing acne. i still get acne here and there. i also don't see any effect in speeding up the acne recovery. using retinol is much stronger than this BHA, especially for cystic acne. however, it does help in reducing blackhead. i still need to extract it manually, but it's easier to extract it and it becomes less and less. if you're looking at the progress picture, it doesn't look like there's any progress, but the tip of my nose is a bit clearer.

i guess if you're looking for a local brand BHA, then this could be an option for you. it's gentle enough to be used even daily. price wise, it's still considered affordable. i have to say that you have to be patient to see the result though. i do wish i could use this more frequently on my husband though, since probably i could see the result clearly. anyway, looking at their products range and their instagram, you might confuse whether haum is intended for men only or not. well worry not, their products are not inclusive to men only, ladies could use them as well. you can get haum products from their website or marketplace (tokopedia).
my hair was due to another coloring. the roots has been growing so much. so i decided to color it after the new year. but even before i decided to color my hair, i already bought another hair vitamin spray. i like the loreal mythic oil so i decided to try another one. plus they were having sales on their official shopee store on 12.12, so i guess why not. this time i tried the spray for colored hair.

this is the description from their website: 10 in 1 spray for color radiance. formula, infused with antioxidants, instantly protects colored hair. one action for 10 benefits: protection against heat up to 230 degree C, shine, softness, smoothness of hair fiber, detangling, facilitates blow dry, hydration, anti-breakage, anti-split ends, anti frizz. this multipurpose spray can be used before the cut, before blow drying or in touching up. recommended for coloured hair. ingredients: resveratrol, panthenol.

the packaging: though the mythic oil comes in a box, this one didn't. only the bottle. i forgot whether they put sealing on the outer part or not. the vitamino color is the line for coloured hair. all the products in this line come in pink bottle. for this spray, it comes in combination pink and white plastic bottle. they cover the spray head with another plastic cap. there's description on the label in english. this one comes in 190 ml.
the bottle
the scent: all loreal products are scented. this one as well. it was quite fragrant, but since i put it on my damp hair and then blow dry it, i can't pick up the scent anymore. well, it's still there if i sniff my hair straight.
description at the back
the product: the spray works well. it sprays enough product finely to my hair. at first, i thought it would be a waste to spray it directly to my hair, so i spray it to my palm and put it on my damp hair. on my palm, it looks like pinkish lotion. it spreads on my hair easily. but after trying that method for awhile, i guess i better just spray it to my hair directly.
the spray head
the result: when i use it with my palm, i only apply it from mid length to the end of my hair. nothing on the root because i'm afraid it would be too oily for my roots. then after i blow dry my hair, i can feel it's too heavy for my hair. in couple days, my hair would be too oily but it doesn't feel as soft and smooth as when i use the mythic oil. the result is similar when i try spraying it directly to my hair. there's no shine, softness and smoothness like promised. but i can feel hydration though.. however, it's more like clumpy and not just added hydration. so i try to combine it with mythic oil. i use the mythic oil and apply it with my hand, then spray this on top of it lightly all over my hair. after blow drying my hair, i can feel my hair back to its usually soft and shiny condition. i guess only time can tell whether or not it would protect my colored hair. so far, there's no added hair falling (by the way, i also use loreal anti hair fall shampoo together with this spray), so i'm hoping this combination would work well.
how it looks like on my hand
i guess this doesn't surpass mythic oil as my hair care. but it's not a complete fail as well. i'm glad i can still use this in combination with the mythic oil, so i guess i can finish this anyway. but as a sole hair protection, i don't think this will work for me. probably i won't repurchase this, but if you have colored hair and want to do something to protect your hair, this could be a good choice. l'oreal professionnel often has sales so price wise it's still affordable.
i just realized lately, that aside from uniqlo, i've been buying my clothes mostly online now. and mostly local brands. well i guess it's a good thing. since the pandemic started, a lot of business are suffering, including local ones. so buying from your locals means supporting them and probably a lot of worker as well. aside from maven, there's another brand that i bought clothes from several times. however, this brand is a bit hit and miss for me.

i started noticing this brand when they had their collaboration with VA makeup artist. back then, i was too late, and most of their collections were sold out. they didn't restock as often, so i didn't buy anything. next they had collaboration with malvava, another makeup artist. i also didn't buy anything because i don't like their designs at that time. somehow i feel it's not for me. however, their color palette were pretty standard, black, white, nude and pinkish which are totally safe for me. i was tempted to buy a piece from this collection, but i held it a bit.
1. dress - maven
2. top - faveurr, bottom - culottes pants from shopee
3. top and skirt - uniqlo
4. top - muji, pants - uniqlo

i was glad i held a bit since their next collection was better. i bought a dress from that collection. if only i bought the blazer and short as well.. too bad it was sold out. and when it was restocked, the color that i wanted was sold out within minutes as well. oh well.. since then, i've been keeping my eyes on their upcoming launch. if there were items that i like, i would buy. since then, i've bought a set from them and three dresses. so let's see the pro and cons about this brand.

what i like:
- ever since i started noticing them, not once i've seen they are repeating a design. their designs are always evolving. it might look similar, but not totally the same. their designs are quite various as well. they have basic like simple dresses, shirts and sets (even homewear set) but they also have more playful items like slip dress, camisole, and crop top as well. they also play with a lot of fabric and patterns. they used pleats faster than maven when it's still on trend. and they also use checkered pattern when people were crazy about "emily in paris". and not forgetting they released homewear collection (that doesn't look too homewear) when the pandemic just started. i have to say their timing is quite spot on.
- continuing about design, their pieces are easy to mix and match as well. even though you're not buying it in set, you can still use it easily with other items. even their set can be used across collection. now i just wish i could buy their blazer set again. oh well..
- all size sizing as well. for dresses, i have no problem with their sizing. i usually have problem in shoulder area with all size dresses, but their sizing is okay for me. even the bust is okay. their dress length is proper as well. though they might have shorter length dress for petite lately, but their usual dresses are knee-length. however, for their pants, they have bigger size than maven. i bought their size not long before i started to exercise more rigorously, so it was just a tad bigger than my waist. but i've been losing weights since then and the pants were much bigger now. i haven't bought any other pants from them, so i can't say that their pants are always big. they put elastic on the waist, but the elastic is quite loose as well, so i probably need to alter the pants.
- their color palette are pretty neutral. like i said, earlier in their collection, they have white, black, brown, nude and sometimes red or pink. nothing too bright. later they have army, purplish, grey blue and other color as well, but again, nothing too bright. everything is considered a safe color. i guess it's a good thing since most ladies want to use just basic color, especially for work piece.
1. top - uniqlo, bottom - faveurr
2. sets from faveurr
3. top - uniqlo, bottom - maven
4. top - eclaircollection, bottom - maven
what i don't like:
- their fabric. their price range is about the same when maven had their collection with christina brennan. until now, their price range is increasing slightly, but not as drastically as maven's. however, with maven, it's understandable since they're using heavy fabric. but for amygo, their fabric is thinner. the first dress that i bought from them is grey. and it was thinner than i expected. even their set was flimsy, but considering that it's not that see through, i would say that their fabris is really comfortable to wear. but then their minimalist dress is quite thin. i was looking for a simple white dress, and i have to say i can't use it without wearing an outer to cover until my butt because it's see through. they also pleated their own pleats fabric, and it was a bit weird. it's thick alright, but the pleats are bigger than usual, so again, it's a bit hit and miss with the fabric.
- their designs are good, can be used for office or daily. but it has minor flaws in them. for the trench dress that i bought the first time, it was supposed to be a dress and can be used as an outer. since it was a dual purpose, i get that they put the first button way down than usual. it can be solved by putting another button on the collar to hide your bust area when you're looking down. but they didn't plan well for the bottom part. even though the dress is overlapping at front when you're standing up, when you are sitting down, the flap is open because the last button is around the your stomach. i have to put my bag on my lap to keep the flap from exposing my thigh the whole time. so it's not very mom-friendly. i have to put another button almost to my thigh so it won't expose my thigh. that goes with the set. the top is supposed to be an outer/top. as outer, of course it doesn't have problem, but as top, it only has three buttons, and the last button is around the belly button. so when i put my arm up high, i can expose my stomach and waist since it also has slit on the side. the pants were a bite weird as well since the zipper is on the back and not the front as usual. i think putting the zipper on the side would be more comfortable, but i might be wrong. anyway.. i haven't bought anything since then, so i wouldn't know whether or not they've improved. all i can say that put really a close look on the design especially if you are a mom with toddler to chase. dresses might look pretty, but you might expose a body part if you're not careful.

i have to say, compared to maven, their designs are developing better as time goes by. they go with the trend on time but still there's a hint of basic in their products so it can be used over the time. mostly their designs are good for work too, considering they have blazer, pants, shirts and their dresses are decent in length as well. so i guess there's always something to choose from. judging by the design, it can be used from twenties upward. but mostly for 20-30s. you can buy their products from their website and shopee, but on launch day, they only put it on the website. so far it's easier to buy their products, and the web war is not as fierce as maven's. but i might be wrong since they might gain a lot of fans lately. check them out yourself if you're curious.
i've been seeing AXIS-Y products in my instagram feed so naturally i became interested. i wanted to buy their set, but i still have lots of products in my stash aside from serums. i don't know which one to get first when i got email from AXIS-Y team. i immediately say yes to both their serum. i was thinking to use the dark spot serum on my husband as well, considering that he has darker skin than mine, but i'm pessimistic that he would let me to put it on him regularly. oh well.. so far i've only tried one serum that has niacinamide as its main ingredient, so i'm interested to try this one.
disclaimer: i received the product for free from the brand, but the brand doesn't influence anything in my reviews. i'm writing the review purely from my experience.

this is the description from their website: a niacinamide based serum that corrects dark spots and improves uneven skin tone. with the help of plant-derived squalane, this serum retains moisture to keep your skin glowing and healthy wherever you go. reduces pigmentation concerns including dark spots and uneven skin tone. smoothes and brightens skin. deeply moisturizes.

the packaging: this one also comes in pale yellow box, just like the artichoke one. with all description on it. from direction how to use to the ingredients list in english and korean. they seal the top part of the box. the interesting thing is the serum comes in a plastic squeeze tube with pump head covered in transparent plastic cap. similar to toothpaste packaging but with pump head and cap. they seal the side of the cap so you can be assured that the product is fresh. this one comes in 50 ml which is slightly more than usual serum size, which are usually come in 30 ml. the body is opaque white with green accent that goes in harmony with other products in their line which all have similar color combination, green and white. though i can see through the body under the light, the serum itself is white, so i can't see how much product is left in the tube.

the scent: this one is unscented, but if i smell really up close, you can pick up a bit medicinal scent from this serum. but it's very subtle, so it won't bother you.

the product: the serum is a milky white gel type serum. in my picture, you'd see that there's a bit transparent at first, and that's because i took the picture freshly when i open the product. but as time goes by, the serum became more milky white. it's quite viscous but it changes into watery traces when i spread it around. it takes seconds to sink in, but after being absorbed, it doesn't leave any tacky feeling. though the direction says that you can use this as sleeping mask as well, i never try it that way so i'll only talk about the result as serum. if you're wondering, the niacinamide concentration is 5% so compared to the ordinary niacinamide, it's lower since the ordinary one is 10%.
this is progress picture on my acne scar
the one on my forehead is barely visible after almost a month
but the one on my chin is still there (this is the one that flares up on and off),
the other one is barely visible as well
the result: okay, let's discuss the promise. as moisturizing serum, it works well. it's not super moisturizing, but it does more moisturizing than the arthicoke one. however, i can't say that it's moisturizing enough to be a sleeping pack, but i can't be sure since i never try it that way. but judging from the ingredients, there are lots of moisturizing ingredients like squalane, sodium hyaluronate, BG and glycerin. i have to say that it must be the formulation. they formulate it to be suitable for hot and humid place, so i guess it's moisturizing without being too heavy. as anti inflammation, it has centella and allantoin that's known for its soothing property. however, as for acne, it does speed up in small acnes, but for cystic one, it doesn't help much (one acne on my chin is cystic, so it gets smaller but then it flares up again). now for brightening effect. it has niacinamide, rice extract, and sea buckthorn which are known for its brightening properties. for my acne scars, it does help lighten it up. i have spots that gets darker when i was pregnant, so i was curious whether this serum could help lighten it up. i know it's silly since probably only laser can do it, but i can't help being curious. so you can see it in the progress pictures below that even though it doesn't brighten it up much, but it doesn't get darker either. if i didn't use vitamin c, somehow i can see that it goes darker. i used retinol, as well as forgetting to use sunscreen in the morning (can we blame the lockdown for being lazy to put on sunscreen?), but my spots don't get darker. i guess it does help brighten a bit. this serum also works well with other skincare product that i used.
spots on my left cheek (the bigger ones are still the same, but the smaller one fades a bit)
spots on my right cheek
i can say that i like the arthicoke one quickly, but not this serum. i never try other niacinamide serum before, so i don't know what to expect from the serum. since i'm more experienced with vitamin c serum, if i have to pick, i'd still like vitamin c serum better. but if you like niacinamide better, you might like this one. it's really suitable for tropical weather. and if you have problem with acne, it also helps speeding up the healing process. it helps fade acne scars as well. i think it works well with arthicoke serum, but it still works without it. i know that AXIS-Y might be considered as a new player, but it has complete line of products for you to try, from cleanser, mask, serum and even moisturizer. if you are curious, you can head to their website here, or check out their instagram here. if you live in indonesia, then check out their reseller's instagram as well here. fyi, AXIS-Y is also a cruelty free and vegan as well, so for you who are looking for cruelty free and vegan korean skincare, this can be a good option.

this is the last brush from the custom line collection that i bought. this is the only complexion brush in the collection. i always want to try their complexion brush as many people say that it's great. but i was tempted with this custom one. so i bought this one. i hope this is as god as the original complexion brush one.

this is the description from the website: customize your foundation with a click. customize your makeup with a simple click. ultra plush synthetic bristles, cruelty free, easy to clean. 3-in-1 for custom courage. custom complexion provides your choice of sheer to full coverage at the ease of a click.

min - sheer coverage for a natural finish.
fully retractable for storage and on the go ease. use with tinted moisturizer, foundation and concealer.
the packaging
description at the back
the packaging: it comes in a plastic box that's transparent at front and has description at the back. you can see the brush from the outside. they color coded their brush, orange for face, pink for cheek, and purple for eyes. you can see the orange "face" label on top of the box. the brush is placed in a plastic slider so it's completely secured. the brush handle is completely orange, different from the other two cheek brushes that has gradient of pink and orange. on the side of the handle there's slider so you can adjust the head of the brush.

how the brush looks like when it's fully retractable
the product: there are three modes, min, mid and max. min means the head brush would be all out. mid means only half would come out. max means only a tiny bit comes out, and it would give the max coverage. the brush is really soft like the other two. however, it's also fragile. it shed quite a bit compared to the other two. this one is also completely retractable so you can bring it with you while travelling.
the min setting. look the brush is not as fluffy as the contour one
the max setting
the result: i only try the mid and max mode. i usually use sponge for my foundation, but lately i've been using tinted moisturizer, and the coverage is really low. that's why i've been trying to use it with the mid mode. it does help the coverage. it gives more than when i used it with sponge. and i used the max mode for concealer. it works well too. it doesn't leave streaks mark. but for concealer, i prefer tapping the brush to make sure it's all blended well.
the mid setting
actually, this is the least favorite of mine. after using this regularly, i still prefer sponge over brush for my base makeup. mainly because it's easier. with brush, you have to check twice whether or not it's completely blended or leave streaks mark. but for minimal coverage products, it's better to use brush since sponge tends to absorb more product. but that doesn't mean this brush is not good. it's really good. i can blend tinted moisturizer as well as concealer with just this one brush. plus since it's fully retractable, it's more travel friendly. i guess you can pick this one up if you like using brush for your complexion. as for me, it's okay, but i still prefer my sponge for foundation.
